Lincoln Mark LT – Pampers Powerfully

By CHARITY BOOZIER
Automotive Journalist

Who does not like to be pampered?  To be treated special, receive extra indulgences, have the world at their fingertips?   The Lincoln Mark LT pampers with an interior designed for elegant and sophisticated taste.  Journalists at the Texas Truck Rodeo must have agreed with me.  They voted the Lincoln Mark LT as winner of First Place in the Luxury Pickup category.

The heated, premium leather, front row captain’s chairs are so comfortable occupants won’t want to leave.  These seats have earned bragging rights, but the pampering is just beginning.   For the driver, the steering wheel has added ebony wood to  provide comfort, elegance and refinement.  Comfort is just the beginning.  Pampering also implies that we don’t have to worry about anything!  Important issues, such as the closest mall and the fastest route are simplified with the navigation system and trip computer.  Passengers in the back seat, children for example, are thrilled with the SIRIUS satellite radio, MP3 capable sound system, and DVD entertainment system.  Well, now that everyone is loaded in comfort and style, time to travel.

The pampering continues with the smooth and quiet ride that the Mark LT offers.  This is achieved by the fully-boxed frame.  Even when the Mark LT was taken over the rugged off-road course at the Truck Rodeo, it was a fairly smooth ride and still definitely quiet in the cabin. Interruptions break your enjoyment of the Mark LT, so those have been diminished.  With double seals, thicker glass, and inset doors, road noise, exterior noise and engine noise are all reduced to provide pleasant, quiet, and relaxing travels.

The Lincoln Mark LT is a truck that can perform as a pickup truck is designed.  The 5.4 liter, 3-valve Triton V8 engine rumbles under all the grace and beauty above to deliver 300 horsepower and over 8000 pounds towing capability.  With the optional 4x2 or 4x4 suspension, the Mark LT gets the job done and gets it done well.

The Truck Rodeo test model was a gorgeous cream white color.  It had the look of elegance from the first time you saw it.  The MSRP of the test model was $50,410. Mileage was estimated at 13 city and 17 highway.
