08 Mazda Tribute -- satisfying the need for more upscale comfort

Mazda makes some great vehicles, and the TRIBUTE SUV is no exception.  But the new 2008 model Tribute really rounds out the entire family of Mazda SUV's.  It is the choice for those who what a traditional, rugged, bold style matched with a vehicle designed to generally go anywhere and do anything.

The 2008 Tribute has all new styling, both inside and outside, but still has the Zoom-Zoom on the inside.  Mazda calls it the "Soul of a Sports Car."  The new Tribute is available in three trim levels, the Sport, the Touring, and the Grand Touring.  On the outside, there are new front and rear fascias, liftgate, hood, tail-lamps, headlamps, powered side mirrors, and more.

The new Tribute sets the driver in a command position -- at least that's how you feel when you are behind the wheel.  You have great visibility and the elevated seating position certainly gives you a better view of the road.  The Tribute offers great ground clearance as well as a tall roof, and of course a large cargo area.  It seats five adults comfortably and there are plenty of storage areas within easy reach of everyone.  The tailgate features a rear window that opens separately, for easy loading of smaller objects such as groceries.  This isn't unique to the Mazda Tribute, but it is a feature many people appreciate.

The Tribute is powered by either a standard 2.3 liter four cylinder engine or a 3.0 liter V6.  Generally, the V6 is found in the Sport models.  The great handling, making it act and feel like a sports car, comes primarily from the unibody construction and independent coil spring suspension.  This unibody construction provides an improved ride, better handling, less noise, and a strong feeling of rigidness in your driving.

The Tribute obviously is not a top-of-the-line SUV designed for everything.  But it has long been a common buy for those wanting an entry-level SUV.  The redesigned 2008 Tribute will definitely keep Mazda in position in offering a full family of SUV's.
